About One Happy Camper
The Foundation for Jewish Camp (FJC), in partnership with organizations across North America, is giving campers a gift toward their first summer at Jewish overnight camp through the One Happy Camper Program!
One Happy Camper incentive grants—ranging from $700 to $1,500— are a bold statement about the importance of the overnight Jewish camp experience to the future of our community. We firmly believe that your child will have the summer of a lifetime, filled with exciting activities, new friends, and meaningful Jewish experiences. Summer camp will provide your child with a sense of independence, amazing new skills, a stronger Jewish identity, and tons of FUN!
Grants are awarded to campers who will attend a nonprofit Jewish overnight camp listed on the Foundation for Jewish Camp website for the first (and in some cases, second and third) time. Grant amounts and eligibility are determined by your local sponsoring organization in partnership with the Foundation for Jewish Camp.
The One Happy Camper Program was created with the goal of inspiring new people to try Jewish camp. The philanthropists behind this program understand that Jewish communal institutions have not succeeded in reaching Jews that find themselves on the margins or even outside of Jewish life. Thus, One Happy Camper incentives generally apply to families whose children do not attend Jewish day school or yeshiva.
The One Happy Camper Program encompasses several different grant programs across North America:
- JWest Campership Program: A program that provides first-time camp grants to middle school students in the 13 Western states, sponsored by the Jim Joseph Foundation.
- Over 50 regional, community, and camp co-sponsored grant programs across North America including:
- Community or federation co-sponsored programs
- Camp co-sponsored programs
- The Midwest Interfaith Incentive Program
- PJ (Library) Goes to Camp partnership with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation. Learn more.
